Description
The National Hiking Trail in the Lower St. Lawrence is 144 km. long . It is divided into twelve sections each between eight and 15 kilometres long. At the start of each section there is parking.
Travelling from north (Trois-Pistoles) to south (Dégelis), the National Hiking Trail goes through 10 municipalities and various ecosystems. From the coastline of the St. Lawrence river, along forest rivers and through agricultural countryside, crossing the Monts-Notre-Dame to arrive finally at Lake Témiscouata.
Access to the The National Hiking Trail in the Lower St. Lawrence is free and dogs are allowed on leashes. Shelters along the way can be reserved for the night.
During the winter season, there are 80 km of trail available for snowshoeing.
